Steelmaking

The Basic Oxygen Steelmaking process was developed in the early nineteen fifties. The process was a considerable improvement over the previously common Siemens–Martin and Bessemer processes. With converter sizes ranging from 150 to 300 tons and tap–to–tap times around 40 minutes, the BOS process is the prime choice for large scale production of low–carbon steel.

Danieli Corus supplies solutions for a number of niche areas in Basic Oxygen Steelmaking. These products all aim at optimization of process efficiency and improvement of steel quality.
